PracMath strives to overcome the challenges that many children may face towards education. Some do not have access to a comprehensive learning environment, do not understand the teaching styles that are presented by their teacher, or are looking to further strengthen their mathematical fundamentals. PracMath can help by using the FREE tutoring of high school students, in exchange for community service hours. Connecting via Google Meet, Zoom, and numerous other platforms that are accessible to most individuals in todays day and age, PracMath is a free and easy alternative to many of today's expensive tutoring services.
The Backstory
How did PracMath begin? So, one day, I went to watch a Hindi movie called Jawan with my family. At first, because of the heavy vibes that were presented throughout the film, I was immediately drawn to the overall theme; and was easily captivated. Later in the movie, the backstory of one of the "villains" start to unwind, showcasing the hardships that are faced by many farmers in India, which were agricultural scams. A poor farmer had ended his life because he simply could not understand the documents that he was asked to sign upon, and the basic difference between the mathematical concepts, simple and compound interest. The farmer was forced to give up everything that he owned, and was unable to bear with the grief, resulting in him taking his own life. I later asked the question if this scenario has played out in our world today, and was given the unfortunate answer of "yes." PracMath will help educate those who are in unfortunate circumstances, and help prevent such scenarios from occurring in the future.

Learning the fundamentals of compound and simple interest will be able to educate an individual on how funds can grow over time. Our curriculum will be able to clearly portray the differences between simple and compound interest, and what possible side effects may occur to a balance over time. Attaining the capability to calculate both compound and simple interest will not only strengthen mathematical skills but can help in future circumstances as well.
