Rectangular Prism

  To find the volume of a rectangular prism, measure the length, width, and height, then multiply these dimensions together using the formula V=l×w×h. This calculation provides the volume of the prism, indicating how much space it occupies. 

Examples

 

For organizing and storing items, knowing the volume of storage bins or containers is essential. If you have a bin that is 3 feet long, 2 feet wide, and 1.5 feet high, calculating its volume helps in planning how much storage space you have.


 For constructing walls, foundations, or other structures, calculating the volume of rectangular prisms of concrete or other materials is necessary for estimating material needs. For instance, a concrete foundation slab that is 10 meters long, 5 meters wide, and 0.2 meters thick has a volume that determines the amount of concrete required.
